Our office first opened its doors in 1960. Dr. George Hamilton, who started the practice, was the first optometrist in Poway.  We still see patients who had Dr. Hamilton as their optometrist!

In 1983 Dr. Hamilton retired and the practice was succeeded by Dr. Robert Okamura and Dr. Marianne Decker.  Since then the practice has flourished and continued to remain current with technology and eye care treatment. 

In 2006 Dr. Diane Yang was selected to take over the reigns of the practice.  Dr. Yang plans to continue in the rich tradition of first-rate eye care, technological advances, and unparalleled service. 

Through three generations of optometrists, Poway Optometry has remained a cornerstone of quality eye care in the community.
